Understanding what costs a credit, what's free, and how to manage your balance.
What Are Strategic Credits?
Strategic credits are the currency for premium AI features. They are consumed when you use the Strategic AI engine or generate deliverables. Quick mode sessions and follow-up chats are always free.

Monthly credits reset on your billing cycle date. Unused monthly credits do not roll over.

Need more credits mid-cycle? Purchase credit packs that never expire:

Credit Deduction Order
- Monthly credits are used first
- Purchased credits are used only when monthly credits are exhausted
What Stays Free When Credits Run Out?
Even when your credits are fully exhausted, you can still:
- Run Quick mode sessions (unlimited)
- Generate Quick action plans
- Use follow-up chats on existing sessions
- View all past sessions, verdicts, and deliverables
- Export existing deliverables as PDF
Session Limits by Plan
In addition to credit costs, Verdikt applies rate limits to maintain service quality:

When you hit a limit, you'll see an error message explaining the restriction. Daily limits reset at midnight UTC.
Low Credit Notifications
Verdikt alerts you about low credits in two ways:
Email Notifications
You'll receive an email when you've used 80% of your monthly credits, and another when credits are fully exhausted.
In-App Banners
The app shows escalating credit warning banners as your balance drops:
- Warning — Credits running low. Appears as a yellow banner.
- Urgent — Very few credits remaining. Orange banner with stronger wording.
- Blocked — Credits exhausted. Red banner indicating strategic features are unavailable.
You can dismiss banners, but they reappear when the next escalation level is reached. Quick mode sessions remain available regardless of credit balance.
What Happens to Credits on Cancellation?
- Monthly credits are voided immediately when you cancel
- Purchased credits are preserved for 30 days — resubscribe to restore them
- After the 30-day grace period, all credits (including purchased) are permanently deleted
Refunds for Failed Sessions
If a session fails due to a technical error, your credit is automatically refunded. To prevent abuse, automatic refunds are capped at 5 per billing cycle.
